what I have been working on in the last few days

i had finish the lesson 1 and still working on lesson 2
i am currently feel crazy and smiling and laughing lol .. but finally i start to feel relax to draw and had break that wall between me and drawing that been blocking me for many years .. i still in my baby steps in drawing
i had lost track of timing and start to enjoy drawing

16 March 2014 (part 1) :-

i had add 3 photos i had done today just for fun they did not took much time i just want to test my hand to draw in dynamic sketching and different pose for the face this for the course i am working on  .. i know the drawing they really messy but i am at this stage of losing up to get back in drawing so honestly i do not care much 

lol i am so happy and excited i feel i had enter my drawing state of mind it is quite fun and i am so happy and enjoy the process 

oh yeah i still going to finish my homework for the YouTube course  it so nice 

i had done 20 pages more from lesson two still working in progress to finish the 800 lol i feel like a kid in school finish my homework lol it very funny and the weird thing is i like it lol

16 March 2014 (part 2) :-

ok add 2 new images also just drawing for fun lol play around with fish and birds .. tomorrow i will start look into animal anatomy and draw with basic shapes i like this type of drawing

ok add 4 new images also just drawing for fun  goose and eagle i had search on Google for clip art i like to draw from drawing photos not real images because i still found the color distract me i like the outline of the object i am drawing so i guess will work on that as my starting point for now i want to be able to draw from real life but that an other battle later  

-I also had add the brushes i am using for SAI paint tool the brushes i use is 2b and draw brushes i just took the setting that i like and name the brush for my own preference I had test many brushes setting from many artist from deviantart those are the one i am more happy to use for now  

the gooses and eagles drawing i simply had searched clipart on Google and chose some images and draw them

done using blender - cycles render - box modeling

"hi i'm Olaf i am a snowman and i like warm hugs"

model in blender 2.68 then test render in 2.69.11 i know i know the question why? well i did not know i am on the old blender till i start make materials and was going to make render so that is why i have 3 blender icons lol will organize 
I did quick render here just for fun 
cycles render 50 samples
the snow material

but change the noise texture as in the image 
i still need to make background and do good lighting this just ambient occlusion 0.5 
I really enjoy this cute character Olaf from frozen movie and i want to get back in blender so here we go 

it is box modeling .. Poly model is not working for me, I had tried this character's face, but I lost the flow in the topology so I did it in my own way box modeling I do not think I will try the poly modeling in character again soon but will try to learn it later I guess but not in my head right now  .. For me, I do all the characters in box modeling

this material was not created by me i had post the link to give credit to the artist .. I only had change the number of the noise to make it more snow as in olaf that is all .. I am trying to learn more and more cycles materials by read and videos but i am very noob in that area .. Modeling is my favorite time in blender material and set up for render i still need a lot to learn  .. It had been some time since i used blender will do materials test to re charge my memory

The reference I had used for modeling   

I took few photos one side view that was easier to get the front view is the one had given me some trouble to be on the same size and the lines with the eyes and mouth those was my key point I had focused on  I had used Photoshop to resize and adjust the photo to be a good reference for modeling  and work my way in box modeling the face than the body and hands 

I had used from the movie screenshots

 the images i had used for modeling .. I had start with the two in the background the screen shot side view and the Olaf poster front view from frozen FB then add the new body from a photo i found online that the one in the front to make him more curvy  .. it little mess but i do not care as long it had read for me to be able to model it works for me .. the mouth and the eyes in both are not the same ok .. but for me those was my start my start point for modeling

i had used an other photo but did not save in the middle before the new update that is it .. i had rotate and edit the character to follow the outline as much as possible and rest the rotation and made my new update .. and that is Olaf character from frozen movie that is screen shot from the movie

 learn modeling you really need to understand the basic and personally i had learn that you need to start with the basic project to build your modeling knowledge

 start with simple projects like glass or something simple do not do the same mistake i did before i had start with big project which i did not finish it was this

after you learn how to model and really feel you had understand how to model without tutorials do not limit your search only to blender  search for speed art  and tutorial from other software

I search  maya for organic modeling characters etc and 3d max for architect and hard surface modeling C4D for low poly and mix between organic and hard surface

Blender cycles materials crazy adventure - Part 1

hi all how are you :)
here my test render as i had promised 

I still will do more tests and the sss and toon shader i am saving for last it too much to test lol :) but will continue ;)

I start to hate rendering lol :) .. Background I have no idea what it do it keep give me black out material 

all this tests render done 100 samples 

I still will do shaders test render and will see what to test next but for now just the shaders in my plan it took me 5 days to do this crazy adventure till now but I had done good so far lol .. some shader will be weird test like the hair but i thought i give it a try just for fun and it give very interesting effect it will be retest with hair later but i kept all for consistency :)

Little brown dove & Blender cycles materials crazy adventure

Hi all how are you today 

little brown dove

today is good day
last night we did not saw the two little brown dove babies in the nest we thought they had fly
today i found the two parents fly up and down and saw one of the babies on the ground at our balcony
they still so young 
the second had fly down three floor and got stuck between some boxes
the poor mother and father had kept fly up and down to get their baby but one of them almost got stuck too  they kept cry out for their baby
we got the two little babies for them and put them in open box for them in the balcony so they do not fall down again and the two parent take care of their babies
I am so happy they now can be together

I call one (trouble maker) he very active and stronger and eat alot lol when their parents come to feed them he keep moving his wings and eat alot lol that the one had fall down the big one

the second one (calm) she is very calm and not move alot even when we got her to put her in the box she was ok with holding her and so on
(Trouble maker) had fight us even he hit us with his wing like saying stay away lol
that was good day i am happy for the little brown dove family they now can be together

Blender cycles materials

as for blender cycles materials i think i am going mad lol 
I am currently doing test render for each shader node to see what it do lol
I am doing full library (photo collection) for each node and the test render to see the effects and see what work with what
It is very boring progress to be honest but i think i start to get very few cool effects lol or my eyes just playing game with me 
I am working now on two shader mix .. i did not know it will be so many i had just finished the one shader simple node and working now with two shades mix i had about 60 test render till now lol omg what i had got myself into lol too many but will finish them
I am writing here so i keep posting my progress will post the full collection when i finish the two mix shaders by tomorrow i hope lol
It just for fun and understanding for me but i think it will save me the test render time i do every single time when i test making materials so that is good  that what keep me positive about the idea i think lol 
I had skip few shaders they keep give me material black out but will see what they work with later

just saying hi - funny beginning

hi good morning/evening all .. how are you 

I have in my second balcony (little brown dove) had lay two eggs

today i saw the little baby they look so cute 

they crawl under their mom to get warm .. I am very excited to watch them 

the (little brown dove) mom of course look at me go away this is my home 

as for my ( brown sparrow birds) in my other balcony i was putting food and water and one jump next to my hand and kept shouting like he was saying come on i am hungry .. so cute lol

i have been watching those brown sparrow for about an hour till i took finally a shot of this sparrow .. i almost give up .. but i made the camera on video so i can get it  and finally i got this little guy so funny face 

ok that was my day funny beginning

digital drawing - anatomy study (the Torso)

hi everyone how are today 

digital drawing :-

 my first anatomy study (the Torso)
I want to draw the full skeleton 
ps : the numbers of the bones are not right  but i am finally drawing the torso skeleton so i do not care at this point i am just happy lol
I am searching to know the right numbers 


I found a solution for my tablet 

the tablet pen pressure is work now i just was need to play at the pen setting to see what is work for me 
i used this as a guide video i only did the two front and back view will continua later when i found the right numbers

some final thoughts :-

I found i have too many resource and i could not focus with them all .. so I set them all and chose only one my choice was concept cookie i like the tutorials by Tim Von
so to start my drawing journey .. my goal was digital so books was out of my resource for now i need to start then will get back and see how the traditional technique and apply them later in my drawing .. YouTube videos was nice but i need only one teaching style to work with it at this point so i guess concept cookie win to start with the tutorials and will progress later on other resource

Learning to play the violin:-

i am currently try to learn the violin .. play the bow on the violin while move my fingers on the G string to get the tunes A,B,C,D

the problem is i either think and focus on the bow or i think and focus on my finger to land in the right tune it kind drive me mad .. because i have to focus in the same time on both .. i have no idea

and here the funny thing the tuner app say that my goose sound i do is the right hz that mean the right tune lol  .. i am so mad right now and wonder how to make that goose sound go away  but will keep trying

after alot of trying about half an hour play my finger only on the g string

I tried to make the big jump again and play the bow on the violin while play my finger on the tunes i think i got it from A:D  yeah finally

but when i try the other way from D:A i miss up in the middle lol but i guess half hour on the other way that mean from D:A will make my finger use to play it the two way with out miss up

I keep my tuner i mean my phone on it the tuner app like i do when i tune my violin i keep it on auto tune to see is what i do right or do I need to adjust something

I keep it all the time while playing in front of me it become very helpful and friendly to me

fingerboard guide :-

I had put on my fingerboard a plastic guide string to know where is the right place of the tune

I did it with testing  by put my finger on an area on the g string 

(I am working now on that string till i feel comfortable playing then will go to the other strings)

anyway as i was saying i was put the fingerboard guide so i get to use to the right place of the tune and i test an area i put my finger on the string and just play the string with my right hand on the string where i play my bow and till i get the right tune

for example :-

the A tune I put the plastic guide string 

(i just use some plastic string guide that can stick but not dirt my fingerboard when removed)

and put it on the four finger places and test all the tunes on all the string till it give me the right tune on each .. i got it to work for me

I found a violin fingerboard guide when i made quick research on Google

I adjust my fingerboard plastic guide to be on the right places

and adjust the bridge it start to lean down from playing and tuning the violin than i had played a little on the G string still need some practice to get it to sound good

I had used the first guide the one on the left .. I think it about the length of the fingers that guide felt natural to me so i used it .. i am just testing

• The lower part of the bridge should be used to support the E string, the higher part for the G string 

I am play on the middle part of the bow right now 

my hand still not precise when play on the top of the bow it is too far .. not yet to play on that part or near the frog at the bow tail  

and i found out how to make the goose sound go away it was the bow need some rosin on the bow hair  

I am so happy 

some final thoughts :-

I am very excited about my progress on learning to play the violin i did now about 6h on the violin (playing,tuning,put the fingerboard guide) 

In case you wandering why i keep record about the time i spend .. that because i am testing a theory "the first 20h learn anything" it is from a book i had read .. I like the idea so i kept record about the time i spend learning the violin to see if it work

To tell you the truth  till now i think it start to give me happy and positive thoughts
