Learning to play the violin:-

18 January 2014

i am currently try to learn the violin .. play the bow on the violin while move my fingers on the G string to get the tunes A,B,C,D

the problem is i either think and focus on the bow or i think and focus on my finger to land in the right tune it kind drive me mad .. because i have to focus in the same time on both .. i have no idea

and here the funny thing the tuner app say that my goose sound i do is the right hz that mean the right tune lol  .. i am so mad right now and wonder how to make that goose sound go away  but will keep trying

after alot of trying about half an hour play my finger only on the g string

I tried to make the big jump again and play the bow on the violin while play my finger on the tunes i think i got it from A:D  yeah finally

but when i try the other way from D:A i miss up in the middle lol but i guess half hour on the other way that mean from D:A will make my finger use to play it the two way with out miss up

I keep my tuner i mean my phone on it the tuner app like i do when i tune my violin i keep it on auto tune to see is what i do right or do I need to adjust something

I keep it all the time while playing in front of me it become very helpful and friendly to me

fingerboard guide :-

I had put on my fingerboard a plastic guide string to know where is the right place of the tune

I did it with testing  by put my finger on an area on the g string 

(I am working now on that string till i feel comfortable playing then will go to the other strings)

anyway as i was saying i was put the fingerboard guide so i get to use to the right place of the tune and i test an area i put my finger on the string and just play the string with my right hand on the string where i play my bow and till i get the right tune

for example :-

the A tune I put the plastic guide string 

(i just use some plastic string guide that can stick but not dirt my fingerboard when removed)

and put it on the four finger places and test all the tunes on all the string till it give me the right tune on each .. i got it to work for me

I found a violin fingerboard guide when i made quick research on Google

I adjust my fingerboard plastic guide to be on the right places

and adjust the bridge it start to lean down from playing and tuning the violin than i had played a little on the G string still need some practice to get it to sound good

I had used the first guide the one on the left .. I think it about the length of the fingers that guide felt natural to me so i used it .. i am just testing

• The lower part of the bridge should be used to support the E string, the higher part for the G string 

I am play on the middle part of the bow right now 

my hand still not precise when play on the top of the bow it is too far .. not yet to play on that part or near the frog at the bow tail  

and i found out how to make the goose sound go away it was the bow need some rosin on the bow hair  

I am so happy 

some final thoughts :-

I am very excited about my progress on learning to play the violin i did now about 6h on the violin (playing,tuning,put the fingerboard guide) 

In case you wandering why i keep record about the time i spend .. that because i am testing a theory "the first 20h learn anything" it is from a book i had read .. I like the idea so i kept record about the time i spend learning the violin to see if it work

To tell you the truth  till now i think it start to give me happy and positive thoughts

Play the violin - planning to write a documentary - my journey

good day/evening every one .. is everybody doing alright ?

I just have come home after voting .. the joy in people's eyes cannot be described into words  and i had bought me Egypt flag  my lovely country

ok quick post about what i am planning to do :-

the violin :-

I really love playing the violin ... I like to share the new info i find in my research .. what I had been posting is not even 10% .. I am planning to write a full post .. about everything I had faced in my learning process from buying till hopefully play some song .. I am so excited but still need a lot and a lot of practice to make my finger run smoothly and actually play on the violin .. it will be like a full post dedicated for violin beginner like me who want to buy a violin and learn play it self learning

but i still as you can see in my early experimenting and learning still need sometime

but that is a promise I take on myself to put that journey as a documentary 

to help people beginner like me who wish to play the violin but they do not have someone to help them or just want to learn play the violin or what ever the reason

learning violin :-

today i am very very excited i had tune my violin myself i was little afraid ok ok not little very afraid  of break any string on my violin .. it start to become very friendly with me  lol .. anyway i told myself what is the worth thing could happen break string .. so what?! i will buy myself new ones  .. so i got my violin and carefully start to tune it very slowly and i did it waa-hoo lol of course i have to tune it every single time but i did it i am so happy and smiling and laughing right now lol 

how i tune my violin:-

i did the tuning hyper between the Fine tuners and pegs and use an free up i download on my android phone the app name is "gstrings" it is amazing app easy to us i just get the string tune sound to use to hear the right sound then for me i use "tune auto" to make many adjusting till i get to the right position and sound and the tune needle stand on the string name and the Hz is close or on the right Hz for each string
i use the "tune G,D,A,E" option on the app to know the right Hz for each to know do i need to go higher or lower

"Fine tuners or pegs may be used to tune the violin. If the string sounds lower than the correct pitch, gently turn the fine tuner or peg to the right until it reaches the correct pitch. If the string sounds higher than the correct pitch, gently turn the peg or tuner to the left."
that the way i use to tune my string little to the right or left as much possible maybe Less than millimeter i do not know but my fear of break anything help not break any string 
and also i had practice my finger on the fingerboard -the violin neck- just to make my hand used to land on the right position and make it smoothly .. and did some playing with my bow on the violin to feel the strings in the right tune .. it so cool.. i really start to like it

the nail file is for my violin rosin the little yellow in the left side in the violin case that simply to put on the bow hair to get sound when playing the violin because without violin rosin on the bow it will not make sound and might get some scratches noises but i got it to work at the first day

i know i have not post new progress lately 

My progress

Learning the violin :-

i am getting to learn the tunes on my violin and practice my fingers to the different position of the tune yeahhhhh lol and my bow hold start to look correct and my small finger start to losing up not much tension in it .. i think  

Learning to draw:-

I had start the exercises in drawing on the right side of the brain and did the self portrait and face/vase exercises till now still will progress more ...
and finally my hand and brain start to get use to the idea of drawing on the tablet and watch on my monitor .. at first my eyes was try to get back to see what under my pen lol and then I remember oh yes that is a tablet not pen on paper lol but now i draw without that in my mind guess that is progress for me

Blender:-

i just start with basic it been long time i did 13 sword blades but still did not finish the handles for them .. i just likes the shapes and model it .. and i am try to make my models in low poly as much as i can and trying to learn how to paint texture for my models  but yeah i guess i need good practice 
this is the inspiration for me if you want to get some inspiration for how to make low poly or see something about that subject see this channel .. i know i know it in Maya software just get the basic knowledge of modeling and work on your favorite software for me is Blender

on the funny side of my day i think i will go an argue with those brown sparrow street birds they had eat all their food and i did not put new just this once so they eat my grass plant  .. and shouting out now where our food  i guess i will go and have an argue with them now lol

The violin learning:-

I love the E string it sound so cool .. my violin is so out of tune now lol .. I have an app on my phone tuner but I am little afraid to break the strings I start to work on playing the full long of the bow trying to make each string the middle two the D & A are crazy right now still need some work on them to do one at a time and not miss up .. that for my violin  I will go to the shop but not yet ..

Digital drawing learning:-

Digital drawing  I had tried to draw a lion cub but it turned out as I expected I draw what I think I know not what I see .. I am reading draw on the right side of the brain to make my right side work I am logic left brain person I took steps to my goals even when I am trying to make art I guess that maybe my problem to solve at this point  it usually in my mind my left brain keep saying what on earth I am doing lol and the right brain try to get the art or creative act as fast as possible yes I have war in my mind i really don't know how to make it stop .. but will see how to make my right brain get to work  lol

the violin:-

I am now playing the open string on the violin G,D,A,E .. i will probably go for the shop to tune my violin again because it new and all that as my research said it need some time to get in the right tune or something like that that as much as my understanding till now  .. i am self taught girl .. I know some will say that crazy specially no music background -I do not have any- i had played the music keyboard and piano when i was so little i can not even remember  lol but yeah that my dream i will go with it lol I am very exited and happy that was very old dream ... playing the violin wow I just love how it sound 

here where i start my learning .. as always those are my top of my list

I am currently work with the first channel so i have the same teaching style then will go to the other and just play to get my hand use to the bow hold and not worry about the the other tunes for now just the basic and try to make it correctly so i do not get bad habit of holding either the bow or the violin from the start  i just want to make it right at this point

for digital drawing i start to get clean line yeah lol i think i will give it a try to draw an animal from photo as i used to way in the past the shading was my blocker as i said i only focus to draw at this point so i guess i will give it a try draw from life photo for an animal

still will make it later for now will start with animal but not now specially i have new stuff going on .. I will try make some time to model something lets say at max by next week

Happy new year 2014 & My goals

hi all

I want to wish you all happy new year and I hope year 2014 be joyful and all your dreams be true

year 2014 will be for me all about digital drawing/painting and learn to play the violin and will get back to blender it been long time since i had model anything i miss modeling .. to do 3d it such fantastic feeling .. this year for me i will call it my old dreams I think it time to make them reality .. I always title my year plan something to give a little purpose/goal to each year .. I really wish you all the best and all your dreams be true .. thanks for you all have a very wonderful and happy new year
